Besides the lovely beach, Tamarindo offers an experience for all It is the biggest tourist resort in Costa Rica and has a wide selection of restaurants, beach bars, coffee shops, activities, shopping, etc.

Here you will find a great selection of both local and international restaurants, and the beach is lined with different beach bars and restaurants. If you want to stay out a bit longer, Tamarindo has the best nightlife of all Costa Rican tourist towns.

Part of the beach is perfect for surfing and there are plenty of surf shops here that offer both teachers and board rental. Next to the village is also a river delta where you can take a river boat tour and look at animals, nature and all the beautiful birds that live there.

Beautiful sunset

Every day you can sit at the beach or on one of the cosy bars with a drink in your hand and look at the sun as it sets into the Pacific Ocean. You can also take a sailing tour with a catamaran where you snorkel and bathe in the warm water before you slowly sail homewards in the sunset, and with a little luck you might be joined by dolphins on the way. If you want to spend more time out on the water, the fishing is amazing and we have several capable captains in the area that would be more than happy to help you catch the biggest kinds of fish.
