Our journey 16/2 – 3/2 2016 was a wonderful experience with a lot of activities. We started in the mountains with rainforest and exciting jungle, where we got to experience suspension bridges, ziplines, colibries and butterfly park in Selvatura Park. From the active volcano Arenal, there were many hot springs that we took the opportunity to enjoy. Equipped with flashlights we were out on night hike in the jungle and got to see both snakes, frogs and sloths etc.

The journey was cruel! fishing guides are absolutely fantastic!
We had cannon weather, got good with fish and had a great time. First days we stayed at the Montelaguna hotel which was very nice, good food and nice treatment of staff and owners. The last days were at home at the fishing lodge which Was extremely homely and with super service!

We had been advised to contact Swetours for assistance with arranging the trip
and we were more than happy. Once home in Sweden, we decided quite quickly that we wanted to go back and see other parts of the country and also visit an old favorite.
Said and done so we booked a new trip with Swetours.
I Håkan has a very large bird interest so we wanted to visit some famous bird sites in the country. For Swetours part, it was no problem to fix this for us.

Nested into the wonderful scenery of Monteverde is Hotel Heliconia, a cosy hotel with an amazing view. From the hotel you have a wonderful view of the green valleys all the way down to Nicoya Bay and the Pacific Ocean.
In the big garden you’ll find plenty of flowers and plants where you will often see hummingbirds happily drinking of the nectar from the different flowers.

The rooms are large and cosy and have a spectacular view from the balcony over Nicoya Bay or the beautiful garden. The rooms are equipped with two king-size beds, telephone, shower and toilet. Cleaning 7 times/week.
Family Suite
For 1-4 people
Separate cottages with a large room, open upstairs and a private balcony with a beautiful view of Nicoya bay. There is also a bathtub for four people. The rooms are equipped with a downstairs king bed and two single beds upstairs. The rooms have table, chairs, shower, WC and private parking. Cleaning 7 times/week.
Master Suite
For 1-6 people
This is a maisonette with a king-size bed on each floor and two single beds. The rooms have both terrace and balcony and you will have a wonderful view both of Monteverde’s beautiful mountain scenery and the Pacific Ocean in Nicoya bay from here. Both Master Suites have a large shared balcony that stretches along the whole house making it ideal if you come in a large group and want to socialize. The rooms are also equipped with table, chairs, telephone, bath and toilet. leaning 7 times/week.
